Do you want to grow beautiful cut flowers in your garden? Attend our Spring Cut Flower Garden Workshop and we'll teach you about five key areas that will set you up for success. Plus you’ll have first access to our “cool flower” plug sale - an assortment of specialty plugs nurtured all winter and ready to plant out now in mid-March!

Topics Covered:

1. Soil Health - Our special guest soil experts will teach you the essential components of healthy, life-giving garden soil and how to build a balanced mix that nurtures the flowers in your garden from "roots to petals". Bring a one-cup sample of your garden soil and our partners will test and analyze it for you and send you results and recommended amendments to maximize your soil health after the workshop for an additional $20.

2. Garden Planning - We'll teach you the basics of planning & maximizing your garden space and best practices for planting and supporting you precious plants.

3. Flower Seasonality - Learn about the importance of timing your cut flowers according to their optimal season, starting with some of our favorite “cool flowers” and also including our heat-loving and cold-sensitive Summer crops.

4.  Annual Flower Selections - We'll give you growing tips for our top 10 cut flower annuals. We’ll have our “cool flower” plugs available for purchase and stay tuned - we will have specialty plugs for sale for heat-loving varieties beginning in early May.

5. Critter, Pest, & Disease Control - We'll teach you the techniques we utilize for controlling critters, pests and diseases.

"Cool Flowers" are a special collection of flowers that can (and should) be planted right now in mid-March to flower in late-Spring before the heat of Summer sets in.  We have curated and nurtured a beautiful collection of our favorites, including Ranunculus, Anemones, Iceland Poppies, and Sweet Peas. We will have a limited number of 6-pack plugs/starts available for purchase and workshop participants will receive first access to purchase them during the workshop.
